The following are details of some recent projects we have worked on and the feedback we received from our clients:
ClientWEA Women@Work Project Work carried outThe WEA Women@Work Project had just carried out a survey of members. They had just received the results from 200 questionnaires with over one pieces of information on each. They were then faced with the dilema of how to store, organise and collate all this information. We set up a database and transferred the paper replies to the database. The data was then collated and reports produced on the results. Feedback"The problem of how best to deal with all this data was dealt with quickly and effeciently allowing us to get on with other work. Within a few minutes of receiving the reports we were using the results." For more information on WEA women@work project go to www.weawomenatwork.org.uk
ClientVisit Scotland Work carried outVisit Scotland had just appointed a new senior member of staff. During the course of induction training it became clear he required to brush up on his basic IT skills but time was short. We set up one day training session within the Visit Scotland offices. The member of staff was given one-to-one training on word, excel and windows explorer using the same documents he would ultimately be working with. Feedback"I'm delighted I've got a contact for 1-2-1 coaching, it's not easy to find!"
ClientScottish Native Woods Work carried outScottish Native Woods require staff to monitor the growth of trees and the effects of deer grazing. the client collects masses of data and enters it on a spreadsheet once a year. It was over a year since he had devised the 20 sheet spreadsheet with interconnecting data and many complicated IF statements. He had neither the time nor desire to re-learn what he had previously taught himself about spreadsheets. We updated the spreadsheets with more manageable formulas and left details of how to progress in future years. Feedback"Lindsey unflinchingly rose to the challenge of sorting out my fankled formula with a smile." John Parrot, Scottish Native Woods
ClientPalio Restaurant Work carried outPalio work a customer loyalty scheme and kept manual records of customer behaviour. They became aware they had collected masses of data but they did not have a method of dealing with it. We set up Customer Relationship Management system to allow them to easily store data and use it to target customer groups with marketing campaigns. Feedback"Within a fortnight of the system going live we have already done two promotions .... I still can't believe we have managed to reach this stage considering so many people told us what we wanted to do wasn't possible." Carol Cracknell, Palio
ClientCrown Church Inverness Work carried outTheir existing church roll database was so complicated they were having problems using it. They were also limited in the changes they could make to the system. We created a new database and transferred all the existing data onto it. We then established the types of reports which were required and set these up. There is scope to extend the system as the church get used to the fact they now have a user friendly method of tracking church roll data. Feedback"Once again Lindsey has come up with a working solution. Now we can keep track of our large church roll and produce up-to-date, relevant reports."
